About Kanreki

 

Kanreki is a Japanese word. It refers to a festival celebrated on a person’s 60th birthday to commemorate the re-birth of the soul, which the Japanese believe happens at this time.

The philosophy of our company has been inspired by this festival. We believe that retirement should be a happy occasion, one filled with opportunity, inspiration and liberation. If planned effectively, retiring gives you the chance to live your own life your own way. Free from financial worries, health concerns or work stress, it is time for your soul to be re-born. So…who do you want to be? What do you want to do? How or even where do you want to live?

David Moxon

David is a highly experienced lecturer who has taught on numerous degree and business qualifications and now acts as a freelance consultant to a number of national and international organisations. His Masters degree was acquired at University College London, and focused on the relationship between stress and illness.

He has written numerous articles for national magazines on Pscyhology and Health related topics, including having a regular ‘Mind and Health’ column in the Living for Retirement magazine.

David is an accomplished media presenter, having research cited in such newspapers and magazines as The Daily Telegraph, The Daily Mail, Company, Men’s Fitness, Health and Maxim. He has appeared on the BBC News, BBC News 24, ITV Anglia News, worked on research projects for Big Brother 8 (2007) and Big Brother On The Couch for Channel 4. Within the last year he has given over 200 radio interviews including Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio 2 and the BBC World Service. He is the resident psychologist for BBC Wales and BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

John Moxon

John Moxon hosts the Kanreki seminars and often draws upon his own fascinating experiences of retirement. His 36 year career was forged in the automotive industry, initially as an automotive engineer and then in the field of sales and marketing management for leading vehicle manufacturers including Mercedes Benz.

John then retrained and spent a further 15 years managing and delivering specialist training programmes on behalf of the employment service.

Outside of work, John has a very keen interest in the theatre where he has directed or performed in numerous productions.

Katie Hart

As a Director, Katie helped set up Kanreki and now draws upon her experience and expertise to develop the company.

Katie is also Managing Director of Rhetonic Ltd, a business which brings the knowledge of Psychology into the world of business. Focusing on training and marketing, Rhetonic provides innovative approaches to attracting and keeping loyal customers and staff.

She has previously been Director of Cambridgshire Enterprise Services, providing support and advice to over 2,000 people per year who were exploring self-employment as a career option.

A qualified coach, Katie has tremendous experience of working with people through major transitions in their working lives and is passionate abut helping people to achieve all that they want to in order to feel fulfilled and truly happy.

Karen Moxon

Karen is also a director and was instrumental in the formation of the company.  She is now responsible for all customer service, front of house and the development of relationships with new clients. She will be the main contact for delegates when booking their courses.

Karen spent 10 years in the travel industry before embarking on a career in magazine publishing.   In recent years she has run a consultancy specialising in psychological research. It was during this time she became interested in the health and well being of people approaching retirement.
